I feel like I'm in a rut, creative-wise.
I'm not motivated to paint or draw, but even when I feel like getting out the art supplies I don't know what I want to do with them.
I've given up on creating an online business. After serious introspection, I've realized I don't have what it takes to be an entrepreneur. I'm good at, and enjoy, directing work and initiating projects. I'm not so good at carrying them out.
Is that a bad thing?
But there is one thing I'd like to do: make sketching a daily habit. So when I saw Phil Davies' advertisement for a new program called SketchAwesome, my curiousity peaked.
The purpose of SketchAwesome isn't to create a daily sketching habit, but you can use it in that way. The program runs for a year. Each week there is a new class released of 3 or 4 parts, all pre-recorded, that I can watch at any time. The week's focus is on sketchbook practice with a particular set of materials with the intent to complete two full pages.
Not only does this help take decision fatigue out of the mix, but I think I could extend it through the week to complete more pages. Thus, by the end of a year's worth of classes, I should have a solid sketchbook habit established.
I'm not going to put the link to the course here because I think it's full. But you can use this link to see Phil's YouTube videos.
